Overview:
- In-person
- Ione, CA
- 5x8 schedule
- Weekend availability
Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments of inmates both upon entry and ongoing to develop and implement healthcare plans
- Coordinate healthcare services with other members of the correctional health team
- Provide ongoing care and management for inmates with chronic illnesses
- Educate inmates on self-care and lifestyle modifications
- Respond to medical emergencies within the correctional facility
- Assess and address mental health issues among inmates
- Provide health education to inmates on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each inmate
- Work closely with correctional officers and security staff to ensure the safety of both healthcare providers and inmates
- Advocate for the healthcare needs and rights of inmates
Qualifications:
- CA state LPT license
- 1 year of LPT experience
- Valid CPR/BLS Card from the American Heart Association
- Proof of negative TB test within the past year
- Ability to pass a background check
