New Grads/Nurses new to Pediatrics are very welcome! We provide Clinical mentorship, paid training and orientation, and take into full consideration that you are new to the field/role. We will always ensure you are set up for success and feel comfortable and confident with the care you are providing. Whether you are new to nursing or new to pediatrics, we cover all grounds to give you all the tools you need to feel good about the care you are providing.

Why School Nursing?

Many of our nurses start their career here with us. As a new grad, options can be limited and you may not be ready or want to work in a facility that will throw 20-30 patients your way. You may also really want to get involved in pediatrics and this is one of the best ways to! We provide the training necessary to start your career off with ease as well as give nurses an option to work in a setting that will not promote burn out or give you more than one person can handle.

Our school nurses have flexible schedules, provide care for wonderful students, and have our support the entire way.

Pay:

LVN: $34.00 - $36.00 / hr

Standard Schedule:

• Day shifts (Approximate Shift Hours: 8:00am-3:00pm) - roughly 28-35 hrs./week
• Monday - Friday OR Per Diem

Physical Setting:

• Health Office or Classroom

Skills Provided During Training For Hired LVN’s and RN's:

• Seizure Disorders, Diastat, Insulin Injections And Pumps, G-tube Feeding
• Tracheostomy Training
• Type I Diabetic Management
• Providing Medication To Students And Structuring Care Plans
• Knowledge On Behavioral Health Issues And Handling Corresponding Care

Minimum Qualifications:

• CA State Nursing License

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing
• Repositioning
• Support Ambulating
• Lifting up to 60 lbs
• Working around small children including: high energy physical activity (playing, standing, sitting)
• Relevant physical aid with daily routine
