Job Overview: At RoHealth, we are seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN) to provide direct, one-on-one care to students with specific medical needs during school hours. This is a per diem, hourly position, where you will work directly with a student to ensure their health, safety, and comfort throughout the school day. You’ll build meaningful relationships with the students while providing essential care, including support for chronic conditions and medical treatments.

Pay: $32-$40.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the school setting, you will be responsible for supporting students with various medical needs. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the students’ well-being and academic success.
Responsibilities:
Conduct health assessments and provide medical care to students as needed.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with state regulations.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history for each student.
Assist students with chronic medical conditions, including but not limited to G-tube management, insulin injections, and seizure management.
Perform health screenings and maintain accurate health records.
Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses.
Educate students, parents, and school staff on health-related matters, promoting a healthy school environment.
Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and healthcare professionals to ensure the overall well-being of students.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Participate in emergency drills and crisis interventions when needed.
Qualifications:
LPN: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Virginia.
RN: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
Pediatric nursing experience preferred but not required.
Compassion and empathy for working with children and families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, school-based environment.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding school health services.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid certification required.
