Ro Health is a leading provider of school district healthcare services. We supply school districts with nurses to care for students with chronic conditions, and complex and special healthcare needs. Our Nurse Staffing Program is certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and we are a member of the National Association of School Nurses.
Role
The Clinical Supervisor supports Ro Health nurses and ensures that all patients are receiving the highest quality care. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and train nurses. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for promoting Ro Health’s culture of supporting its providers and leading a team of engaged nurses to provide competent and compassionate care.
Requirements
- Must have 5 years of experience working as a registered nurse.
- Must have experience working with pediatrics - school nursing experience is a plus!
- Current clinical practice in common pediatric conditions and nursing procedures
- Knowledgeable about pediatric health resources, ability to answer questions and problem solve effectively
- Demonstrated ability with time management and staff supervision
- Ability and sensitivity to mentor newer grads
- Ability to flex daily schedule based on needs, changing priorities, and short notice
- Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively with Ro Nurses, students, parents, and school staff during stressful situations
- Learn about providing nursing care, rules, and regulations, in an educational setting vs. hospitals and clinics.
- Attend your area team meeting and the monthly School Nurse Supervisor Meeting.
Responsibilities
- Train and supervise RN’s and LVN’s in your team’s geographic area.
- Evaluate the fit between nurse and assignment. Make recommendations to Staffing Consultant as needed.
- Act as a Clinical expert, resource, problem-solver, and question-answerer for nurses.
- Attend the first day of care for a new student, new nurse, or some combination.
- Site visits to verify that orders are present, current, documentation is present and appropriate, and observe carefully to ensure that the nurse is performing care correctly.
- Respond to nurse concerns and/or questions about medical orders and communicate with Healthcare Providers when needed or required by contract.
- Review nurse charting/documentation within the first 7 days.
- Review/advise on Incident Reports. Follow-up with nurses, district staff, and parents as indicated. Notify the credential coordinator of any follow-up actions.
- Attend IEPs or 504 meetings if the contract indicates
- Obtain orders, and write or edit care plans for Master contract students.
- Review care plans and update as needed.
- Coordinate annual skills training for nurses.
- Provide skills training for nurses hired between annual training.
- Evaluate staff competency in nursing procedures.
- Respond to parent concerns and consult with the Area Manager/Team
- Act as liaison between Ro Health staff, school district nurses/staff, families, and care facilities
- Assist with nurse provider evaluation and corrective action plan as needed.
- Attend monthly CS meetings (required) and area office team meetings.
