Overview:
- In-person or remote
- Nassau & Suffolk County, NY
- Mon - Fri
- up to 25/hr
- ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments of students both upon entry and ongoing to develop and implement healthcare plans
- Coordinate healthcare services with other members of the school health team
- Provide ongoing care and management for students with chronic illnesses
- Educate students on self-care and lifestyle modifications
- Respond to medical emergencies within the school district
- Assess and address mental health issues among students
- Provide health education to students on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each student
- Work closely with school nurses and security staff to ensure the safety of both healthcare providers and students
- Advocate for the healthcare needs and rights of students
Qualifications:
- New York state CNA certification
- New Grads Welcome
- Valid CPR/BLS Card
- Proof of negative TB test within the past year
- Ability to pass a background check
