LPT – Licensed Psychiatric Technician – Corrections

Overview:

• In-person
• San Diego, CA
• 5×8 schedule
• Weekend availability

Responsibilities:

• Conduct health assessments of inmates both upon entry and ongoing to develop and implement healthcare plans
• Coordinate healthcare services with other members of the correctional health team
• Provide ongoing care and management for inmates with chronic illnesses
• Educate inmates on self-care and lifestyle modifications
• Respond to medical emergencies within the correctional facility
• Assess and address mental health issues among inmates
• Provide health education to inmates on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each inmate
• Work closely with correctional officers and security staff to ensure the safety of both healthcare providers and inmates
• Advocate for the healthcare needs and rights of inmates

Qualifications:

• CA state LPT license
• 1 year of LPT experience
• Valid CPR/BLS Card from the American Heart Association
• Proof of negative TB test within the past year
• Ability to pass a background check
