RN – Registered Nurse – School Nurse

Position Details

• Specialty: School Health
• Location: Deer Valley, AZ
• Positions Available: ~8 Full-Time, Limited Part-Time Opportunities
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Shift: School hours (typically starting between 7:30–8:30 AM and ending between 2:45-3:30PM)
• Target Start Date: Beginning of the 2026–2027 school year (July/August 2026)
• Pay Rate: $36–$42/hour
• Must be willing to travel at least 30 minutes

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 care for students with medical needs (e.g., G-tube, trach, catheter, diabetes, seizures)
• Deliver care in accordance with the student’s Plan of Care
• Support a safe and inclusive environment for all students
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Assist with health office coverage as needed
• Administer medications and support daily student health needs

Requirements

• Active Arizona RN license
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• TB Test
• Drug screening (if required by district)
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred
• Passion for pediatric care and working with students

Paid Training & Clinical Support

• Seizure disorder education & Diastat administration
• Insulin administration & diabetic management
• Medication administration
• G-tube feedings & tracheostomy care
• Ongoing mentorship and support from a dedicated Clinical Supervisor

Physical Demands

This role involves regular communication with students and staff, as well as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs), bending, and crouching may be required. Reasonable accommodations can be made as needed.
