School Nurse – Per Diem

Location: Chesterfield, VA

Job Type: Per Diem (Flexible Scheduling)

Pay: $30–$41/hr | Weekly Pay

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 care for students in a public school setting. This role is ideal for nurses with pediatric or skilled nursing experience who want a lower-stress environment while continuing to use hands-on clinical skills.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday (day shift)
• No nights or weekends
• Flexible per diem scheduling

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a student during the school day
• Perform tracheostomy care (suctioning and airway management)
• Administer G-tube feedings and care
• Monitor and respond to seizures (including precautions/intervention)
• Support diabetes care (blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration)
• Provide urinary catheter care as needed
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor vital signs and student health status
• Respond to medical needs and emergencies
• Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers

Paid training provided for all specialized care.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Virginia (required)
• BLS certification (preferred)
• Pediatric, home health, or school nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with or willing to learn trach, G-tube, and seizure care
