Ro Health is seeking a dedicated and credentialed Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year in Vallejo, CA. Join a team committed to making a tangible impact on students' lives through specialized instruction and advocacy.
Role Snapshot
Compensation: Starting at $50/hr (Commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Term: 2026–2027 Academic Year
Position Overview
As an Education Specialist, you will support students with a diverse range of learning, emotional, and physical needs. You will be responsible for modifying general education curricula for mild-to-moderate students and providing essential life-skills instruction for students with more significant disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Adaptation: Design and implement modified lesson plans across core subjects (Math, English, etc.) tailored to individual student abilities.
IEP Leadership: Develop, implement, and track progress for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); lead annual reviews and update goals throughout the year.
Student Assessment: Evaluate student skills and performance to adjust teaching strategies and ensure academic/behavioral growth.
Collaborative Advocacy: Partner with parents, general education teachers, and administrators to ensure student success and smooth grade-to-grade transitions.
Staff Oversight: Provide daily direction and supervision to classroom Teaching Assistants.
Required Qualifications
Credential: Must hold a valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum).
Compliance: Ability to adhere to all district policies, state laws, and federal IDEA regulations.
